The Carers Companion 2013
In association with Carers Association

The Carers Association is Ireland’s national voluntary organisation for and of family carers in the home. Family carers provide high levels of care to a range of people including frail older people, people with severe disabilities, the terminally ill and children with special needs.

In June 2013 The Carers Association in association with Guerin Media launched the first ever FREE dedicated Handbook for Carers, to be titled The Carers Companion.

Our aspiration with The Carers Companion is quite simple; to provide in one user friendly, easy and accessible document a detailed A to Z of the numerous issues of concern carers and to help highlight the invaluable work Irelands Carers do on a day to day basis .

The Carers Companion will cover all the relevant topics, written by experts in each field and relevant to carers nationwide. Topics such as what being a carers means, care skills, benefits of homecare, adapting the home, personal care, nutrition and diet, mobility, hygiene and infection prevention, respite care, entitlements, etc.  We will also include a national directory of contacts and information broken down on a county by county basis so each carer can access a full list of local services

The handbook was launched during National Carers Week (June 10th – 16th 2013) to ensure maximum coverage.  It will then be distributed to all Carers Association Centres around the country and made widely available to individual carers.

This publication will provide an unrivalled forum for you to promote your company or your services. It is a unique opportunity to promote a message and your company’s products to a very specific yet far reaching audience across the nation.  It is also worth noting that The Carers Companion will be distributed free of charge and that it is directly through your involvement, sponsorship and generosity that the publication itself is at all possible. I thank you in advance for your involvement.Talk to our Advertising Manager today to find out how you can get involved in the The Carers Companion 2014.
