East Coast Drive

In an effort to balance the books and to try and do for the East Coast what the Wild Atlantic Way did for the West Tourism Minister Paschal Donoghue launched the latest tourism project in April 2015 called, Ireland’s Ancient East. It is hoped that tourism revenues as a result of this new initiative will increase to €950 million by 2020 and bring in an extra 600,000 visitors a year.

At its simplest it is a focus on heritage and history. The route starting at Newgrange and the Boyne Valley, zig zags through Clonmacnoise, Glendalough and The Rock of Cashel among others finishing in Cork.

Guerin Media will provide FOC detailed maps and suggestions for visitors as they embark on this voyage of discovery on Ireland’s East Coast and combine it with our own East Coast Drive.
